What is pruning?
Pruning plants means cutting away growth nodes- spots on branches where new growth emerges.
Importance of pruning
Pruning enables the Gardyner to selectively redirect the plant's resources to areas that get the most light.
Defoliating is important for keeping your Gardyn under control. It's where the Gardyner removes large leaves that are no longer a source of photosynthesis, but a sink to the plants' resources. These are usually the oldest, largest leaves at the bottom of the plant that can discolor or start to die when the plant matures. Defoliating allows the Gardyner to remove leaves that attract pests, block airflow, and produce no benefit for the plant.
