Step 1: Make sure your router has a separated 2.4 GHz frequency band
Your Gardyn Home pairs through a 2.4 GHz band.
Your router may have two frequency bands, 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
If this is the case, make sure the bands are separated (different names and different password), so the Gardyn can connect properly to the 2.4GHz band.
If your router is dual-band and you see only one single network in your list of Wi-Fi networks, you may need to review your router settings and separate the 2.4 GHz band by creating a guest network, with a dedicated name and password.
Step 2: Initiate the connection process
Next, let's start the connection process.
If not already done, open the Gardyn Application and log into your account.
Click on the + add device icon.

STEP 3: Check that your Gardyn Home is powered on
Make sure your Gardyn Home is powered on:
- You should see a green light on your power supply.
- The power switch located at the rear of the water tank should be on the ON (-) position.

Tip: it can take a few minutes to your Gardyn Home to run its initiating processes, so safer to wait a little after you switched the power ON to continue with the pairing process.
STEP 4: Connect your mobile device to the Gardyn WiFi hotspot - 4 digits
Next, the system will ask you to enter 4 characters to identify your device and connect to its WiFi hotspot. You will find these 4 digits inside the lid, on the label located in the water filling area. Remove the wooden cap and you’ll see it.
Enter the 4 digits in the app and click “Join”.
Tip: These characters should match the last 4-digits of the Gardyn's WiFi network that should appear in your list of WiFi now. If this is not the case, defer to your Gardyn network name.

PLEASE NOTE: Your pairing device will prompt you with this message because the Gardyn Home does not have internet access. This is perfectly normal and you should proceed by clicking on Join.
TROUBLESHOOTING ERROR MESSAGES: Sometimes there might be messages that pop up that will not allow you to proceed to the next step. Below are the common error messages and a link for troubleshooting steps.
STEP 5: Enter your home 2.4GHz WiFi credentials
At this time your phone/tablet should be connected to the Gardyn wifi so that the App can pass your home wifi credentials to your Gardyn.
Enter your Home 2.4GHz Wifi Name and Password and click on “Connect”

TROUBLESHOOTING ERROR MESSAGES: Sometimes there might be messages that pop up that will not allow you to proceed to the next step. Below are the common error messages and a link for troubleshooting steps.
- We lost connection to your Gardyn
- Loading Wheel Stuck at 99% (Do Not Press Try Again)
- Incorrect Password for Gardyn
STEP 6 (only if receiving error messages in previous step): Enter your WiFi Credentials
Enter your Wi-Fi credentials again and click on “Connect"
STEP 7: Congrats
Congratulations! Pairing is completed. Now that you have successfully paired your Gardyn you will be prompted to nickname the device. Enter the nickname for your Gardyn and hit Save.
You can always update a device's nickname in Settings once it has been connected to the app. After you have typed in the updated nickname for your device, be sure to select the "Return" button at the bottom right of your keyboard to save it.

If you are repeatedly experiencing an error at the 99% stage, this may indicate a router incompatibility. Contact your router manufacturer to learn more or consider purchasing a TP-Link AC750 Extender available on Amazon. This is a simple and economical solution screened by our technical team that takes your router and builds two Wi-Fi bands. This does not change or adjust your router in any way but simply allows the Gardyn to connect properly to your 2.4 GHz band. The Gardyn Team is happy to set up a call once this arrives to assist with this installation.
