If you have multiple Gardyn devices, you can easily switch between each device's account in your Gardyn app. Visit the following sections to learn more about this feature!
1. How to Connect Your Gardyn Device to Your Gardyn App Account
Go to the Side Menu and select "My Gardyns"
Choose "My Gardyns" and tap the ADD GARDYN button at the bottom of the screen.
On the next screen, choose the option applicable to your scenario:
1. Tap on the ADD EXISTING GARDYN button if you had previously created an account for the Gardyn that was paired some time ago.
2. Tap on the ADD NEW GARDYN button if you just bought another Gardyn and need to create an account for that device.
2. How to Add an Existing Gardyn
When you select the option to add an existing Gardyn device to your app, you need to enter the email and password for the Gardyn you had previously connected to your home Wi-Fi.
When your credentials successfully pass our check, you'll see this confirmation pop-up (pictured below). Tap on OK to get to the home screen. If you don't remember your password, please tap on 'Forgot Password?'. You'll receive an email with instructions to help reset your password.
You'll now see this newly added Gardyn account to a list of your connected accounts in the "My Gardyns" section of the app if you go to settings in the menu.
3. How to Add a New Gardyn
When you select the option to add a new Gardyn device to your app, you will then be logged into a separate account in your app designated for the device you are adding.
Once you have confirmed and successfully created an account for your Gardyn device, you need to pair the newly added device with your app.
Tap on the CONNECT MY GARDYN button at the bottom of the screen.
Tap the ( + ) push-button above "Add device" and start connecting your Gardyn to your home Wi-Fi as you have previously with your first Gardyn.
To successfully pair, ensure the Gardyn device is ready to pair by long-pressing the silver button on the lid until the LED lights blink three times.
The next screen will prompt you to enter 4 characters to identify your device and pair it with your app. You will find these 4 characters inside Gardyn's lid, on the label located in the water filling area.
Enter the 4 characters in the app and tap on the CONTINUE button to complete the pairing process.
4. How to Recover from a Scenario Error when You Don't Want to Add a Device
If you accidentally created an account to add a new Gardyn to a list of connected accounts and do NOT want to proceed with adding a device at this time, you can return to your preferred Gardyn account by selecting the menu in the upper left corner.
Select "My Gardyns" in the menu.
Choose the Gardyn device account you want to switch to. The account name you accidentally created will appear as 'No Device Connected.'
5. To Switch Accounts, Select the Device Account You Want to Log Into
To switch to another device's account, tap the down arrow next to the Gardyn device nickname at the top of the screen.
You will find all of your Gardyn devices' accounts listed here and can select the account you want to log into and confirm. Tip: The 4 characters associated with each device's nickname are the same 4 characters used to pair the device.
6. Update the Nickname of Your Gardyn Device
To update the nickname of the device associated with the Gardyn account, go to Settings to find "Gardyn Nickname."
Tap "My New Device" to enter your nickname for the Gardyn device. You can always edit a device's nickname in Settings while logged into its account once it has been connected to the app.
Note that the 4 characters associated with each device's nickname are the same 4 characters used to pair the device.
After you have typed in your device's nickname, select the "Return" button at the bottom right of your keyboard to save it.
7. Kelby Monitoring with Multiple Accounts
You can check your messages from Kelby for each of your Gardyn accounts while you are logged in to that account on the app. Select the green icon in the upper right corner on the app home screen, and you will find all of your Kelby messages specific to that Gardyn archived there.
Kelby messages will continue to be sent to the email inbox associated with the account.
8. Planned Improvements
We have projects in our development pipeline to improve the existing functionality of this feature. We welcome Gardyner feedback. These plans include but are not limited to:
- Creating a framework for Gardyners to immediately understand which Kelby notifications are coming from which Gardyn.
- Building a way for membership subscriptions to be inclusive of multiple Gardyns at one time.
