Need to install the elbow connectors that you recently received? We have you covered! Follow the steps outlined below and we will help you through the process.
Check if your device has a leakage
The first thing you will want to do is manually engage the pump by tapping on the water tile from the home screen of the Gardyn app.
Remove the bottom yPod from each column and check if there is any visible leaking coming from the connections between the hoses from the lid and the hoses from the columns. Below is a video demonstrating what the leak will look like.
If you are observing leaking from the irrigation connector, we suggest you switch the quick connect to the little 90-degrees elbow connectors. See below how to do so.
Remove the Column to Gain Access to the Quick Connect
1.) Remember, safety first! Be sure you power off the Gardyn using the main switch at the rear of the water tank and unplug the power supply from the back of the Gardyn before moving onto the next step.
2.) To prevent having to completely disassemble the columns, we strongly suggest to work one column at a time. You will now want to remove the screws that hold in the upper blade in place for the column you are starting with.
3.) Carefully move the column away from the stability bar (as shown below):
4.) Just as when you attached the columns to the base, you will want to rotate the lowest part of the column to the right and gently lift up.
5.) Remove both of the blue c-clips on the quick connect and place them in the Gardyn cloth accessories bag for safe keeping.
6.) Press on the top of the connector to release the irrigation hose. This video demonstrates how to remove the irrigation hoses by pressing on the the top of the connector.
Install the Elbow Connector
Now that the quick connector is removed, you are ready to install the replacement elbow connector.
1.) First, install the connector to the irrigation hose that is inside the lid, as shown below:
2.) Take the irrigation hose from the column you removed and attach it to the irrigation connector inside the lid. The video below might look familiar to you! It is a clip from the installation video guiding you on how to install them properly.
3.) Now that you have the connectors installed, place the column back on the Gardyn and lock in place by rotating it clockwise until it clicks in space.
4.) Screw the stability bar back into place for this column and repeat the steps for the remaining to columns.
